Work With Us

At Borderless Ensemble, we believe classical texts belong to everyone. We don’t just stage classic works—we take them out into the world. Through immersive workshops and international residencies, we collaborate with drama schools, film schools, arts organizations, and local communities to adapt classic texts (like Hamlet) through the lens of local cultures, languages, and lived experiences.

Whether you are looking for a high-impact weekend masterclass or a month-long co-creation residency, our programs are designed to train artists, spark dialogue, and build local-global connections.

Our Program Tiers

1. The Catalyst (Half-Day / Weekend Intensive)

  • Best For: Drama schools, local theater groups, and cultural centers looking for a high-impact introduction to cross-cultural text adaptation.

  • What It Is: A fast-paced, rigorous masterclass focusing on a specific classical text (e.g., Hamlet). We explore physical acting, text deconstruction, and how to make classical language speak to contemporary multinational realities.

  • Duration: 1 to 2 days (Half-day or full-weekend options).

  • Deliverables: Practical toolkit for actors/makers, text breakdown sheets, and an optional informal sharing for local audiences.

2. The Exchange (1-Week to 2-Week Workshop Program)

  • Best For: University drama/film departments, international festivals, and professional theater companies.

  • What It Is: An immersive deep-dive program where participants work hands-on with our ensemble to adapt scenes from classical texts into their own local vernacular, cultural idioms, and performance styles.

  • Duration: 5 to 14 days.

  • Deliverables: A fully-realized showcase or work-in-progress sharing of adapted classical scenes, blending live performance and/or screen acting training.

3. The Borderless Residency (1-Month Community Co-Creation)

  • Best For: Major cultural institutions, international arts councils, universities, and community organizations seeking deep, transformative engagement.

  • What It Is: Our flagship month-long residency. We embed ourselves within your community, school, or organization. Together, we co-create a bespoke theatrical or screen adaptation of a classical text rooted entirely in the culture, stories, and lived experiences of the local participants.

  • Duration: 4 weeks.

  • Deliverables: A major public sharing, performance, or filmed presentation of the co-created work, alongside comprehensive documentation, artist talks, and lasting community legacy frameworks.

Logistics & Collaboration Process

Because every partnership is unique, we tailor each program directly to your organization’s goals, space, and participants:

  • Custom Design: We hold virtual consultations beforehand to adapt text selection, language integration (multilingual components), and focus areas (stage vs. screen acting) to your group.

  • Group Sizes: Typically designed for groups ranging from 12 to 25 participants (fully scalable based on venue capacity and tier).

  • Host Support: Partner organizations provide suitable rehearsal/workshop studio space, basic technical support, and local coordination.

  • Travel & Expenses: To ensure international touring is sustainable, host partners cover facilitator travel (flights), accommodation, and local transit/subsistence during the program.
